What is the story behind your shop’s name?
Sandmaiden it’s like Sandman for sleeping only female. I started with the sleepwear.
You clothing is cut beautifully. It’s made of wool, organic cotton and other natural fibers. Why do sustainable materials matter to you?
Sustainable fabrics do not matter to me as much as natural fabrics…I just think they’re more beautiful and more comfortable, I’m attracted to natural materials and nature as most people are and I think that is best for women as well as the earth.
Who is your biggest influence in the fashion industry and why?
Hmmm…. I think it changes all the time depending on what strikes my fancy at the moment.
If you could travel back in time, where would you go and what would you do?
I’d like to travel back to an Era before technology, plastic, cars, electricity and cell phones. I would sleep wrapped in furs under a lean to made of hides.
